Texas police have arrested a suspect in the investigation of a boy reported missing last week in Houston.
A child’s body was discovered this past Tuesday night at a motel in Jasper, and Houston police believe that it belongs to missing child Samuel Olson. The family is currently awaiting a medical examiner’s report for confirmation.
Theresa Balboa, the girlfriend, was arrested at the motel and police expect to file evidence tampering charges against her.
“I was going to take Sam to school when his mother showed up with the police officer, or who I was under the impression to be a police officer, and they demanded me to release Sam,” Balboa said Monday.
Samuel was then reported missing by his father’s girlfriend but police believe this is a false statement.

Balboa, who is currently in the Jasper County Jail, was out on bond from an assault case back in November. She was charged with assault with intent impeding breath, and Samuel’s father, Dalton Olson, was the complainant in the case.
Police had been searching for Samuel, who was reported missing May 27.
Houston police Assistant Chief Larry Satterwhite told the Houston Chronicle that the last confirmed sighting of the boy was April 30 at his school. According to, family members say Samuel would have turned 6-years-old this past weekend.

Dalton Olson, the father of Samuel Olson, stated last week how he urgently wants “justice for his son.”
“I don’t know what’s going on. I found out what happened last night,” Olsen told KPRC 2′s Vincent Crivelli. “I can barely breathe.”
And when asked what he would want to tell his girlfriend, Theresa Balboa, he replied with this: “Why? He loved you so much. I do not understand what happened. Why did you, why did you do this?”
