Britney Spears’ ex-husband, Jason Alexander, is in police custody after being arrested at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday (August 2) morning. According to TMZ, who broke the story, the 41-year-old was booked in a Tennessee jail for stalking and his bond was set at $50,000 – though it’s unclear when he’s due in court.
For those who don’t remember, Alexander was a childhood friend of Spears and they infamously got married at A Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas, Nevada in January 2004. The love story had a quick ending and the marriage was annulled 55 hours later – the couple didn’t even make it three days.
In a 2021 podcast, Alexander accused Spears’ team of misleading him into signing the annulment. “They told me if I would sign the contracts (the annulment) they would let me and Britney continue our relationship, and if we felt the same way in six months they would give us a proper marriage,” he said.
Unfortunately for him, that proper marriage never came. Instead, Britney Spears got engaged to Kevin Federline in July 2004 (roughly six months after her marriage to Jason Alexander) and they tied the knot in September 2004 – though the marriage wasn’t legal until October 6 due to a delay in their prenup.
Spears and Federline were married for three years and had two children during that timeframe – a son named Sean Preston (b. September 14, 2005) and a son named Jayden James (b. September 12, 2006). Spears filed for divorce in November 2006 and the divorce was finalized eight months later.
As for Jason Alexander, it’s unclear who he was stalking and exact details of his arrest on Wednesday haven’t been revealed, but Page Six exclusively revealed in May that Alexander had married a woman named Rebecca Bell on March 27, 2023. He has been rather quiet on social media since then.
Jason Alexander Tried to Crash Britney Spears’ Wedding in 2022
Many of you might remember Jason Alexander from a viral news story that happened in June 2022. He ended up crashing Britney Spears and Sam Asghari’s wedding ceremony – more than 18 years after the infamous 55-hour marriage. Jason allegedly broke into Britney’s home and was armed with a knife.
In fact, Jason livestreamed himself breaking into the home – claiming that he had been invited to the wedding ceremony and needed to talk to Britney. He was threatening to crash the wedding before being pinned down by security (and others who were nearby) and was later arrested, once authorities arrived.
As a result of the incident, Alexander was ordered to stay at least 100 yards away from Spears for three years and was denied the right to communicate with her in any capacity. He pleaded no contest to aggravated trespass and battery, had two charges dismissed, and was sentenced to 128 days in jail.

“Britney is shaken but doesn’t want to let this get her down. Everyone is thankfully safe, and Jason is no longer on the property,” one inside source told Page Six at the time. Now more than one year later, Jason Alexander is finding himself in trouble yet again – hopefully we get some more details in the near future!
