The hits just keep on coming for Tori Spelling and her family. The Beverly Hills, 90210 alum has had a rough 2023 – which is actually an understatement – and the saga continued on Wednesday (October 19) when she was forced to evacuate her rental property after a nearby neighbor took someone hostage.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the incident started at around 9:00 a.m. local time and involved a man armed with an AR-15 who barricaded himself inside a home with an alleged hostage. A police standoff followed and the SWAT team responded before the unidentified male was handcuffed.
Tori Spelling and her five children – Liam, 16, Stella, 15, Hattie, 12, Finn, 11, and Beau, 6 – were forced to evacuate their nearby rental home as the incident unfolded. She was then photographed alongside a group of concerned neighbors who were asked to stand behind a yellow tape – according to Page Six.

The Saga Continues for Tori Spelling
Unfortunately for the Spelling family, this is just the latest incident in what has been a tumultuous 2023. It started in May, when she and her children were forced to evacuate their home due to a mold infestation – though it really started six months prior when her family started to get sick as the mold grew and spread.
In June, Spelling and her then-husband, Dean McDermott, announced their separation after 18 years of marriage. The former couple met in 2005 while filming a TV movie (Mind Over Murder) in Ottawa, Canada and started dating shortly after. They married on May 7, 2006 and renewed their vows on May 8, 2010.
Since then, Tori has struggled to find a stable home for her family to live in. She has lived in a $100/night motel, a friend’s house, and even an RV (which she described as a ‘mini-vacation’) at one point. And now that she has a rental home for her family, the turmoil only seemed to follow her with this latest incident.
